126Pxpe Speaks On His Music Style, Inspiration & Favorite Song Of His

Intro:

126Pxpe is a talented artist on the rise from the DMV area. He began recording music a few years ago and has a ton of songs in his discography so far. A key aspect of 126 is his impeccable work ethic, as he works very hard even outside of his music career. He’s also an artist that is very open to collaborating with & bringing up other talented artists in his circle. With that said, there’s a lot to be learned about him as a person in our brief interview below.

Summary:

Me: What first got you into music?

What first got me into music was that I was able to finally find a gateway to express myself. Being a man in this world you’re taught to be strong & keep ur feelings inside, but music gave me a reason to open up and define that.

How would you describe your style?

My style is all over the place. I’m always trying new flows. The genres I describe in my music constantly change due to the fact that the things I go through in life seem to change constantly. So that’s why I keep my sound the same.

How do you balance military service & school with your music career?

So with my military service, I have a set schedule up into a year in advance so the days I do work I completely focus on my duty at hand. But serving in the military actually taught me dedication and perseverance. It taught me to fight through everything and to not give up because nothing and nobody can stop you from achieving. This goes hand n hand with my music and school. I have goals that I must achieve and they will get done. I focus on the majority of my school work on the weekdays. When I finish I write, and when the weekends come around I record.

How has your sound changed & evolved over the years?

I’m more confident in my music and you can definitely tell from my voice. I’m able to actually stay on beat and create music that people wanna learn the song word for word. Before my music was focused around sad topics, but I worked past that grew as an artist. Now, I create music on all subjects. Music that a wide variety of people can connect to.

What inspires your lyrics usually? And what inspires you to make music in general?

All my work is inspired by things I go through from the past to the present. What inspired me to actually make music was when my parents got divorced. I was going through a lot, and all my emotions were locked in & weighing me down. So I started to write constantly, and once I came to college I met Nick Semanek. He’s an amazing producer and friend who inspired me to record my first song “Answers”.

What other talents or hobbies that you have outside of making music?

I’m a founding father of a fraternity at Kutztown University. I’m also a photographer, self-taught chef, an investor, and plan to learn how to DJ in the upcoming future.

Who are some of your favorite artists & producers to work with?

Nate Kobain, Nvrd, Oryah, Zell, YD Almighty, Nick Semanek & Meg

Who are some local artists you’re listening to now or are a fan of?

Same as my favorite artist to work with.

Favorite Song Of Yours?

My favorite song so far is definitely “Black Heart” featuring Meg. It digs deep into the feeling of being broken hearted and betrayed, and I feel as though a tremendous amount of people can connect firsthand with the experience of being heartbroken.

There’s also “Tonight” featuring Oryah, Zell, and RyRy Treski. Definitely will get you on your feet ready to pop bottles and get lit. I heard RyRy got the jungle juice.

Future Plans?

A huge project I’m excited for that will be releasing in January is a song featuring Nvrd & Chip called “Party Man”. It’s definitely something to look forward to.
