Meet Sam Ostler

Me: What initially sparked your interest in making music early on?

Sam: Watching Elton John Live as a young kid

Nice! How would you describe your sound as it’s evolved over the years?

I’m a pop singer-songwriter, with emotional melodies and catchy vibes.

Do you remember the first song you've ever made? If so, how does it compare to your new material?

My first song I ever made was on my piano at home. I actually found a copy of it on my laptop recently and had a listen. It's mental how far your writing skills and development come after putting in the hard work.

Where does your stage name originate from? Have you ever changed your name?

It’s just my normal name, Nothing too exciting... ahah

That’s cool though & shows authenticity! In a perfect world, what does an ideal studio or recording session look like for you?

I don’t think there is such a thing as a perfect session. They are all different and each has their own outcome. I love the feels and vibes in the studio and once something has been created the magic starts to flow. It's all about creating something special and something that you can relate to.

That makes sense! And outside of music, what are some talents & hobbies that others may not know about you?

I love to play and watch cricket, i'm also a keen fan of WWE which I also like to watch.

What's been the most difficult part of your journey in music?

Taking my music from local radio to national radio. The jump is extreme and your competing against some household names.

Yes, many listeners will never know how hard that process actually is for creatives. With that said, is there any advice you would give to someone who’s thinking about getting into music today?

Keep on Keeping - someone once said this to me and I still go by it today. If you truly believe in something then there is nothing stopping you. Just make sure you enjoy what you do.

And finally, do you have any upcoming plans or releases you’d like to share with the fans?

So I have finished two new singles for next year which will be released one in January and then the following one in March/April time.
