Meet Nyasia Chane'l
Me: How did you initially start getting into music & the industry?
Nyasia Chane'l: At first, I got into music and the music industry on accident. I was just fooling around in the studio; laying down a hook for my friend and once I heard my voice on a track, I knew this was something I wanted to do.
Nice! And how would you describe your style musically?
I would describe my style musically as “Neo-Hip-Hop Soul” like my idols Etta James, Mary J Blige, Ashanti & Beyonce. I blend traditional soul with pop and Hip-Hop elements crafting a unique sound that brings people together.
Do you remember the first song you've ever made? If so, what was it like & how does it compare to your latest releases?
My first song I made was called My Hips. I made that song in three hours locked in the studio. It was fun creating my first song because I honestly had no idea what I was doing but I just went with the vibes. Comparing my first song to my latest I can definitely hear the growth in my vocals and writing skills.
Who are some of your favorite artists & producers that you listen to when you’re not creating?
Some of my favorite artists that I look up to are Mary J.Blidge, Brandy, Beyoncé, Ashanti, and Drake just to name a few. Producers that I’d like to work with would be Dark Child, Leone Thomas, Hitmaka, London On The Track, etc!
Additionally, who are some artists you would like to work one day in the distant or near future?
I would like to work with artists like J. Cole, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, and Drake just to name a few. There is more of course.
I’d love to hear what any collabs! Wouldn’t be surprised if one of those names does end up on a song of yours soon. Also, how do your friends & family support your journey?
I have a great support system from my family and friends. I appreciate the love and loyalty that I have received so far. It truly makes me happy when I know I have a solid circle of people who just want the best for you. It’s really an unexplainable great feeling!
Gotta have a solid support system. That’s great! And where does your stage name originate from?
My stage name originates from my real name which is Nyasia, the Chane’l part came from the help of my mom. We were on the couch one day brainstorming on which names to go with and Nyasia Chane’l really stuck out to me!
What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know about you?
Some other talents and hobbies I like to do outside of music are playing pool, traveling, and chilling with my family. My hobbies keep me grounded when the world gets chaotic. It’s a stress reliever for me!
With the stressful world we live in now, that makes perfect sense. What does a world without music look like in your imagination?
A life of boredom
Are there any future plans or collaborations on the way we should expect?
My career plan for the future is to be happy. Keep growing my fanbase and connecting with new people and experiences. I will be a multi-millionaire artist and entrepreneur. I will run many successful businesses and create my own legacy. An artist I dream of collaborating with with would be Mary J. Blige.
Is there any advice you would give to someone who is thinking about getting into music?
My advice would be to understand your purpose and stick to it. If this is truly something that you want to pursue you have to stay hungry and dedicated. Don’t get caught up in superficial things. Stay true to you!
And last, how would you describe your music in one word to someone who's never listened before?
An Experience
