Meet: Kache Monet

Me: So what got you into making music & pursuing your creative passion? Many people are too nervous to put their art out there.

Kache: Listening to Nas The World is Yours in 1994. Nas inspired me to want to pursue music as my passion.

How would you describe the style of music & how it has changed over time?

It is a mix of jazz, soul, mainstream, and alternative hip-hop. My sound went from club-type music, to more of a conscious and religious type perspective.

That’s actually pretty cool to learn about that transition! And how did you come up with the creative stage name “Kache Monet”?

Since I was a fan of Cash Money Records growing up, my brother coined the name "Kache" pronounced like Cash, Monet, pronounced like “Monay”.

What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know?

Working out, serving God, spending time with my wife, rl traveling, etc.

Are there any other musicians you would like to work with from your area in the future? And in general?

Trap Boy Freddy, Yella Beezy, and Post Malone. I would love to work with The Game, Dave East, J Cole, and Kendrick Lamar to new a few.

What does a perfect studio or recording session look like in your imagination?

The engineer is vibing with my song and others in the studio while it's in process. And I am having fun and laughing, but at the same time, doing business and getting positive feedback from everyone, and constructive support and criticism at the same time.

Sounds like a great environment to be in! What's been the most difficult part of your journey in music?

Trying to get to the next level of success. Hopefully one day I can network and achieve that level of success.

Do you remember the first song you've ever made?

Yes, it was called "Finding Me" when I rapped under the stage name "The Veritable Prophet" 20 years ago back in 2004, l was 18 at the time and didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. But God gave me the passion for music to pursue.

Nice! And, what's your favorite song that you've made so far?

I Know and God's Timing. I Know talks about discovering my African Roots, and is a sequel to my first song I made, called "Finding Me". And God's Timing is about putting God first and being patient and letting him take control when you no longer can do it yourself.

What do you have planned for the future of your career? Any dream collaborations or upcoming projects for the fans?

Absolutely! I want to hopefully work with Dave East, The Game, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and many more!! J Cole would be the producer and artist I love to collaborate with. His style is so unique and he's a down-to-earth person. And as far as future projects go, I want to make more positive music that everyone can relate to. So more so transitioning to motivation-type pop music.

Is there any advice you would give to someone else who is thinking about getting into music?

Be consistent and believe in yourself. Make good, quality music and be around the right people to get the proper exposure. It's not easy, but it's doable. And don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. As long as you believe you can make it, then you will. And don't worry about the time it takes.

Any Final Words? Thank you so much for your time & answers!
