Meet: Inett
Me: What first got you into music & the music industry?
Inett: It runs in the family. I grew up surrounded by artistry.
How would you describe your overall sound? Has your style changed & evolved since you started?
Experimental. I strive to be genre-bending while having a mainstream sound. Yes, my style has evolved, but not from a sense of changing to something new. More like, refining or aging like wine.
I like that! Now tell me, where does your artist name originate from?
My birth into greatness. It's my actual name. When I first started, I went by Ibbythunder. After a while, I went through a phase trying to find my true creator identity. Eventually realized that I'm him... Respectfully.
Do you remember the first song you ever made when you started creating your art?
Ever made, no. I started singing in choirs, church, and school productions. Some of my fondest memories were freestyling at the house with my mom. Making whimsical parodies, and creating fun tunes in general. My first personal production was a remix, and my first published project was Half Full... I think.
Nice! When you’re in the studio working, what does that environment look like for you in a perfect world?
The vibe is present, responsible party favors, and surrounded by people of like-minded energy. I also like being alone when I work, it helps me be more raw/organic without worry of other opinions.
What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know about you?
Motorcycling, Festivals, Museums/Art Galleries, Craft Beer, Travel, and much more.
What has been the most difficult part of your journey in music so far?
The realization that I had to do it alone, and then make it happen with little guidance. Everything I've learned this far is similar to touching the stove to know it's hot. Trial and error.
That’s completely understandable & something that many people outside of this industry don’t realize. Is there any advice you would give to someone getting started?
Do it, and f*ck they opinion. Art is self-expression, not "our" expression.
And finally, do you have any upcoming releases or plans for your career that you're comfortable speaking on for the readers?
Right now I am cultivating a brand and audience across multiple platforms and art forms. My hope is to be performing in the next 6 months, and professionally auditioning for multiple project types. I have an album dropping at the very beginning of 2025 and am constantly identifying new opportunities to pursue. Have to acquire the bag.
