Me: What was the creative process while making “Falling”?

Felixx: The creative process for making this song was a two-year process. I wrote the lyrics in one session and the melody. The vocals and production took the longest time to complete as I wanted to ensure the song sounded fresh and catchy. My inspiration was falling in love with my girlfriend.

Did you draw inspiration from any specific genres or artists?

Sonically, I drew inspiration from Adekunle Gold’s song Okay. Genre-wise the song is heavily inspired by Afrobeat and Afropop.

The song came out pretty well! In general, how would you describe your current style of music?

My style of music is afrobeat, afropop with a tinge of R&B. I started making folk music in 2013 then moved to alternative R&B and hip hop in 2016 and ultimately landed on afrobeat, afropop and R&B in 2025.

What themes or messages do you hope listeners take away from “Falling” following its release?

I want listeners to fall in love with the song from the moment they press play. I want listeners to hear the lyrics and follow the love story between two people falling in love. The song captures that moment you first fall in love and everything in between.

What was the most challenging part of creating the song during the recording process?

The most challenging part of creating this song was trying to connect the vocals with the production whilst keeping the essence of the love story. It was a battle between minimalism and maximalism production which ultimately was won by a balance of both.

And how did you come up with your current stage name? Has it ever changed in the past?

My stage name is my first and middle name with an extra x added to Felix. This is a new music project with this song being my first song release as FELIXX MOSES.

Are there any upcoming releases or plans that you're comfortable sharing with the readers?

Yes, there’s plenty of new music on the way. I have a new song coming out in March that portrays the inner struggle of reality vs expectation. I also have an EP coming out this year. My future plans for my music career are to play shows, release merch, shoot music videos, and build a fan base.

Nice! And finally, in your own words, why should a new listener check out this song today?

A new listener should check this song out today because it’s a lighthearted song that’ll have you dancing, bopping your head, and leave you wanting more.
