Vibin’ Like Star Lord - Chillz Muzik
Intro:
Today’s post features Chillz Muzik; who’s appearing for the 2nd time on the site. He’s been making music for years & delivered a brand new single for fans to digest. I thoroughly enjoyed last year’s single “Focus” that was an inspirational banger. Flashing forward a year later, it’s hard to imagine that he’d be able to top that single with this new release.
Summary:
He starts off with very tight & energetic flows. The lyrics are very clear to hear/understand, despite the speed of his delivery. It makes the track very bouncy & fun to rap along to. He also doesn’t overdue his delivery, and manages to help the chorus fits the rest of the song perfectly. There are lines here that touch staying positive despite having daily pain (specifically coming from longterm artery damage). While using a solid rhyme scheme on his verse, he lyrics here also focus on Marvel references & themes (as well as lines about success & women). He explains the creative process himself:
“This new song was inspired by my son talking to me about Guardians of the Galaxy.”
“I started to freestyle to him and came up with the chorus. I just connected the pieces together and made my favorite song to date. It blends in the Marvel topic (which I'm a fan of), has a dope vibe to it, but also captures some of the pain that I got through on a daily basis in the lyrics.”
The beat is both uniquely bright & colorful. It’s produced by J. R. Noble, and fits the Guardians Of The Galaxy aesthetic very well. The horns sound beautiful over the soft piano keys & dancing bass tones. There are also some nice drums that features crisp-rattling hi-hat rolls. The song features the artist Superstar Lamar. His vocals harmonize perfectly on the instrumental; including the background vocals that sound extra clean. He provides a great flow & matches the subject matter of the song.
Overall:
Vibin’ Like Star Lord proves to be the best Chillz Muzik song yet. It’s a wonderful collaboration of creative talents & innocent ideas. I especially can appreciate how good Chillz is at making feel good music that includes underlying messages.
