Today’s post features the Florida artist CimplyDan. He’s been making music for a while & is experienced with the craft. CimplyDan draws a lot of inspiration from his cultural heritage and a variety of genres: Country, Electronic, Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, and R&B. This specific record is the first of many new singles the artist plans to release this year. Let’s see what CimplyDan brings to the table with this summer release.

Summary:

Dan delivers a groovy flow to match the summer feel that the track embodies. His delivery is laidback & smooth; which also helps match the tone of the rest of the song. In general, I think one of the main takeaways is how he glides over the beat without ruining/taking away from it.

The song is mainly describing the Southern lifestyle that comes with living in Florida, but also details a great life of money, women, & joy that he worked hard for. However, the lyrics do well at delving into his struggles with bad relationships & problematic women.

The production remains my favorite aspect of this new track. The producer, Anomalia, meshes soft piano chords with bright guitar playing to create the PERFECT summer vibe. There’s also a dreamy synth that plays throughout the beat at times; which was a great addition. The drums add a nice bounce, and the percussion elements specifically are very rhythmic.

If you need a new song for your summer playlist, then look no further. It’s a very accessible song that I could hear played in a variety of settings.
