Intro:

Today’s post features the rapper, singer-songwriter, producer, and engineer: $dvllv$. He’s been invested in music since his early ages, as he started off playing piano & writing lyrics during his childhood. The Florida-based artist has already garnered over 250,000 streams worldwide. He constantly delivers emotional music that tells stories of his past, and the goals that he plans to reach. Let’s see how this is reflected in his latest single “444”.

Summary:

$dvllv$ rides the beat with a chill laidback flow. His style on this track could be described as more melodic sing-rap. He’s very good an enunciating his lyrics, and his vocals sound great in the moments where they layer up. Lyrically, he touches on his past & come up story; alongside his present life. There’s also a bunch of other topics including: Women, Paranoia, etc. He explains the idea of this new single himself:

I wanted to paint a picture of what I see and hope for when I wake up on an average day.”

“I wanted to craft the song to give it a conversation-like feel; as if you were drunk at a party, talking with your teammate or friend, and realize later on that there was more said than you had drunkenly thought.

The chorus & title of this song, “444”, is actually an Angel Number. This specific number represents determination, spiritual guidance, and productivity. The numerology behind the number fits this track’s themes perfectly. His lyrics can be pretty vulnerable & paints some vivid pictures to the listeners of his mindset/vision/experiences. The guitar strings featured on the beat are soft & refreshing. I love how the Kick drum & Bass are very active alongside the very atmospheric soundscape of the instrumental.

Overall:

Another solid song I’d recommend to any of you readers. $dvllv$ definitely has a sound that, once fine tuned, can break into the mainstream music scene. This song has lots of personality & a personal feeling throughout the run time. I look forward to seeing him achieve more in his young career. Thank you for reading, and enjoy $DVLLV$’s new single below.
