Meet TRock
Me: How did you initially start getting into music & the industry?
TRock: Since a young kid, I’ve had a passion for music. Listening to it, dissecting punch lines, bars, and metaphors. And as I improved my vocabulary & my speech patterns, I wanted to do it myself. After I felt like I got a sound that I enjoyed, I wanted the world to hear it. I aim to leave my legacy.
What was it like making your first song ever? How does it compare to your newer stuff?
I wrote my first song in fourth grade have no idea what it was. But my first song I put out to the world was Lil Uzi “Just Wanna Rock” remix, and it’s super fire. My more recent work sounds a lot cleaner and my ad-libs and my sound is more perfected, but I’ve always had it in me. No Diddy.
It seems like you have a lot of support so far despite being so fresh into the game. Do your friends & family see the vision?
I do have a good amount of support. I wish I had more, but I’m very grateful for my support system. I am an independent artist, but my friends help me shoot content all the time. Watching my Uncle Bam molded me a lot as an artist. He was a big artist in Louisville, Kentucky as I was growing up. Shout out to my parents they’re decently supportive of my music journey, but they’re my main motivator. I want to put my mom in a very big house.
Love the ambition yoo! Who are some of your favorite artists & producers to work with?
1 artist I love working with is my right-hand man @HpmJohndo. My favorite producer is Retro @Retroonthatbeat , he exclusively produced my upcoming project. @Mixedbytae is my main engineer he has a unique style that have your music sounding super fire, but when he gets too busy I also like to go to @Natekobain who has a great crisp sound.
Who are some artists you would like to work with around your area?
I’ve worked with a lot of artists in my city already. I would want to work with more, but it never happens.
How would you describe your style musically? And has it changed since you started?
I have different sounds. Sometimes I can aim to turn you up or make you want to get money. Sometimes I can make you reflect on life, how far you’ve came, and how far you have to go. I have a Chill sound sometimes for the people who like to get high. I’m a very diverse artist.
I completely agree! Now tell me, where does your TRock stage name originate from?
I have never changed my name my name. TRock is a family nickname I got from my uncle in fifth grade after I got into a couple of fights at school. I fought a lot growing up as a kid. I get called TRock on stage and at home😂
What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know about you?
I do YouTube (@Trock502) but my main hobbies music I love music. I work in the community a lot with the youth trying to mold them into be good people for our future world.
What does a world without music look like in your imagination?
Bland, boring, angry, ass probably what hells like.
Are there any future plans or collaborations on the way we should expect?
New project “No Off Seasons” coming in July. Check out my last album “B4 Da Fame” out on all platforms now. I wanna work with Metro Boomin, Tay Keith, all them guys. I wanna work with Drake, Da Baby, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Adel, and John Legend. Shit, I’ll work with Shawn Mendes if he’s down. I just wanna be with the greats.
Is there any advice you would give to someone who is thinking about getting into music?
Enjoy yourself, some people do music as a hobby. Some people do music as a job. Know the difference.
And last, how would you describe your music in ONE word to someone who's never listened before?
Bars. I’m bringing them every track whether it be slow and chill or fast and turn.
