Trip C’s Is A New Independent Label On The Rise With Lots Of Talent
Intro:
Wick Dior & Yun Skipp are talented artists from West Haven, Connecticut (203) who put passion behind their music. They’re representing Trip C’s today, the independent record label the two started up & founded together. Their first project “Every Dollar Counts” was released this year & has been picking up good traction. Both artists keep their music very authentic which is also refreshing in this industry. Meet Trip C’s
Me: What first got you & your team into music & the music industry?
Artists: To be honest just seeing so many unwavy n****z get rich off the rap s*** just made me & bro decide we can do this too because we really do the things most these new rap n****z talking about anyway, so why not try to make millions off talking about it. Then we started Trip C’s. CASH CONNECT CARTEL
How would you describe the overall sound musically that the label creates & represents?
I call our music “Count Up Music”. We make the type of music you turn on when you counting money up. You just made a play for a lump of money now you in that mood, and nobody can tell you s***. That’s what we make, and our music hasn’t changed since we started just our beat selection got better, and going through life helps us have more things to rap about.
I think that description is pretty accurate! Love the music yall been putting out. How did you guys come up with your stage names?
We changed our name plenty of times, and every time we go through some real s*** we just want to start over fresh. But I got my name Wick from running round with 2 you know whats since I was 13, but I added the “dior” cuz I fell in love with them Dior runners lol I needed every pair so I just called myself Dior.
I got the name Yun Skipp from a junky I used to know. Every time he would pull up on me he’ll yell aye Skip. But all the other junkies that were around used to hear him so they started calling me that too. I just added the Yun cause when they say young they be so geeked they barely talk so it sound like that’s how it’s spelt.
Do your friends and family support both of your music careers?
Nah not really, of course our main family (certain members) but the n****z we expect to support DON’T. So it’s really just all new fans supporting us but I like it that way.
Do you remember the first song you've ever made? How does it compare to the music the label is putting out now?
Yeah, our 1st song was together before a basketball game in high school. We was really trying to rap with punchlines and all that lol but now we just go in the Stu and record whatever we feel like.
Who has been your favorite artist or producer to work with so far?
Nobody really…circle real small right now, it’s only us.
Word, and are there some artists you would like to work with at all from your area?
S/o that boy Rich Boy Streetz
What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know about you?
We hoop…Like really hoop. We could have went pro if our high school coach wasn’t so old school. He didn’t play us because we were too flashy. Skipp hit a clutch 3 from the logo and got benched. I made the star guard drop off a crossover and got yelled at I can’t make this up lmao. But yea we really ball so when we make it watch us in these celebrity games, Breezy & Quavo better put some $ up lmao
That’s tough! Speaking of making it big, what do you have planned for the near future?
Millions bro.. we just see hella racks coming and a lot of major moves being made.
Is there any advice you would give to someone who is thinking about getting into music?
Just make music. Stop trying to copy or do what you think everybody else likes. Just make music you wanna crank in the whip then let the rest do its part.
What does a world without music look like in your imagination?
A old ass country western movie and all the women ugly and depressed
That’s hilarious haha! And finally, how would you describe your music in ONE word to someone who's never listened before?
