Today we have the emerging R&B/Soul artist Gaviana who hails from Valley Stream, New York. Starting at the age of eight, Gaviana learned to play the piano and guitar which has helped develop her sound to what it is today. Influences by the likes of Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, and Alicia Keys also play a role in her style as well. Overall, her music can be described as very versatile, unique & eclectic. Meet Gaviana

Me: How did you first get introduced to making music? What led you to a career in the music industry?

Gaviana: I always had a passion for music since I was a child. And I wanted to take music seriously once I got older.

Nice! How would you describe your sound as it’s evolved over the years?

Yes, it has. My main genre is R&B but I dabble in Pop sometimes and I like to be theatrical with my music sometimes.

Do you remember the first song you've ever made? If so, what was it like?

Yes, I recorded it, mixed it, and produced it I really thought I could do it all.

What does a world without music look like in your imagination?

No light and no purpose.


Who are some of your favorite artists/producers/etc. to work with?

I like working with my team A-Train we have a lot of great talent in the company.


That’s awesome! Are there any other artists you would like to work with from your area?

In the future, I would like to work with some rappers, other R&B singers, and Gospel Singers.

 

Where does your stage name originate from? Have you ever changed your name?

This is my legal name and I thought it could be a great stage name.

I like that it’s very unique! In addition to that, how would you describe your music in ONE word to someone who's never listened before?
Theatrical

What are some other talents & hobbies outside of music that some may not know about you?

I like to Dance and create funny tik tok videos.


On a more serious note, is there any advice you would give to someone who is thinking about getting into music today?

Invest in yourself and you don't need validation from anyone.

I would love to work with Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.
